The project comprised extensions to the side and the rear of a two-storey detached dwelling in Sandycove to provide contemporary adaptable spaces for a large family. A single storey extension to the rear with a reconfigured ground floor plan provides an open plan space that connects to the garden with full height glazing. A fifteen square metre first floor extension, located to the side, accommodates an additional bathroom and bedroom.

Circulation spaces are enhanced by new roof lights and a landing adjustment. Externally, light coloured brick links in with the existing brick on the front façade, and transforms the appearance of the dwelling. The completed project has a Primary Energy Loss of 47.05 kWh/sq.m. per annum and a Building Energy Rating of A2.
